I am a big fan of haikus, mainly because it makes me sound like I’m an intellectual when I say at dinner parties “I’m a big fan of haikus”.
They are also very short, perfect for our flitting world of teeny weeny attention spans.
Anyway, I wrote three during our cancer journey.
Cancer haiku #1
Jo has got cancer
Not funny, but you still need
A sense of tumour
Cancer haiku #2
Chemo starting soon
Preparing to be poisoned
It’s hair-razing stuff
Cancer haiku #3
Chemos’ end draws near
The final poisoned chalice
Hope it ends in cheers
