I asked God where he was today,
I asked him where he’d gone.
I asked him why he’d left me here,
packed up his stuff, moved on.
I asked him why no note was left,
no effort to explain,
no ‘sorry, but I think we’re done,
perhaps we’ll meet again.’
The questions sat unanswered,
just hanging in the air,
‘cos the God that once had loved me
was a God no longer there.
